DIS provides cellular data WAN connectivity in most areas of the state. The service can be used as primary connectivity for small branch office or temporary locations. The service can also be used as a backup to the user’s primary wired network connection. Many areas are capable of 2 Mbps down and 1Mbps up, but the speed is variable depending on distance from tower and the number of users using the cellular data network in that area.
DIS offers this service as a direct connection to the State network – no VPN needed on the part of the customer. The 3G connection is deployed directly in the DIS customer router, giving DIS the ability to manage and monitor the service with eHealth and Spectrum on a 24/7 basis.
