 A Word From Our Director

After two years of serving as DIS Director, I look back on everything I have learned and experienced and realize every day how much I love my job.

Our agency Decision Drivers are People, Cost and Reliability.   People are of course, our most valuable asset.   Whether you are a stakeholder, DIS employee or a citizen accessing state services, we want your interaction with us to be the best it possibly can.

Focusing on Cost, we have implemented a new methodology for managing our IT assets which will result in savings for our customers and the State of Arkansas.  The tools we have put in place will save money by effectively tracking our assets, as well as the replacement and maintenance schedule for our assets.  And, when it comes to Reliability, our systems and services are designed to be cost-effective, secure and reliable.

Our Operational Strategy for the upcoming year is ‘To Know about Problems Before our Customers Do…and to Fix Them.’  This sounds fairly basic, but there are over 2500 locations on the information technology network that serves the State of Arkansas.  State agencies – and ultimately the citizens they serve, depend on those locations to have services ready for you the moment you need them.   We work everyday - 24 hours a day - to make that happen.

The DIS Mission is to assist customers in accomplishing their IT goals by providing guidance and resources in a reliable, cost effective, and customer oriented manner.   Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.
