About DIS / IT in Arkansas
We are a State agency, established in 1977, that provides information technology solutions to better serve the citizens of Arkansas.
Whether its providing project management to ensure agency budget dollars are wisely spent or securing our State network, were
constantly working to deliver the best to our public
service customers at the city, county, and state
level. We help them work smarter, not harder. This
year we will touch thousands of IT users and manage
services worth millions, all to make Arkansas eGovernment
accessible, cost-effective, and secure.
In addition to connecting the State of Arkansas to the internet, DISs 200+ professionals provide equipment hosting, network, and professional services. A few examples:
- Data Storage
- Project Management
- Network Security
- Web-Based Training
We are also the driving force behind systems like drivers license renewal, the Arkansas Public School Computer Network (APSCN), and State of Arkansas tax systems.
DIS is a cost recovery agency. User-charging promotes an equitable approach to financing the Department of Information Systems by fairly charging agencies for the products and services they use.
