The Customer Rack Housing option is for customers who want to house racks of computer equipment they already own in the D I S Data Center.

What is included?

• Floor space in D I S Data Center for one customer-supplied standard server rack (typically 24" W x 36" D x 84" H)
• Up to four 20A 110V AC power connections
• Cisco Ethernet switch w/ dual connections to D I S core network
• Subnet of IP addresses for use by customer
• Basic firewall services

The Shared Rack Housing option is for customer who want to house servers and/or peripherals they already own in the D I S Data Center, but do not need a full rack worth of space.

What is included?

• Rack space in a D I S-owned rack, housed in the D I S Data Center, for one customer-supplied server or peripheral
• Installation of customer equipment in D I S rack
• Up to two 110V AC power connections
• One 10/100/1000MB Ethernet switch port per server or peripheral is included
• One connection to Shared KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) switch
• Subnet of IP addresses for use by customer
• Basic firewall services
• Pricing based per "U" ("U" = 1.75 vertical inches)

What should the customer expect? The customer should expect a secure, environmentally friendly environment to host customer provided equipment. At the customer's request, D I S may provide additional professional and technical resources such as Disaster Recovery, Project Management, Software Analysis, Server Management and Support, and Software Testing, to assist with management, requirements identification, implementation, problem resolution, and enhancement support. Such costs are not included in the rates associated with this service.

Customer Responsibilities

• All server and peripheral equipment
• All labor and on-going support for the equipment
• List of personnel that will be authorized for working on the equipment
• Information about who to contact for issues related to the equipment
• Information about how the firewall should be configured
