What is the service?
D I S provides Internet access as an optional
service to basic data network connectivity. Connection
speeds depend on the physical network connection
and range from 56 kilobits per second to 1 gigabit
per second.
What is included?
D I S provided Internet access includes three
redundant connections to the major Internet provider
totaling 990 megabits per second, transport to
the D I S core for access to hosted service,
and 24/7 maintenance support service. Price is
affected by physical location and agency. Internet
filtering is also available with a monthly charge
depending on bandwidth. Network connection options
are:
- 56K Band 1, 2, 3, or 4 (band options vary
by city; see your Customer Account Representative
for your city’s band)
- 384K Band 1, 2,
3, or 4 (band options vary by city; see your
Customer Account Representative for your
city’s band)
- T1 Band 1, 2, 3, or 4 (band
options vary by city; see your Customer Account
Representative for your city’s band)
- 10MB
(multi-agency facility; capitol campus)
- 50MB
(single agency)
- 100MB (single agency; capitol
campus)
- 1GB (capitol campus)
What should you expect?
DIS conducts network monitoring 24/7 with eHealth
and Spectrum, network management tools used to
pinpoint problems and provide performance reports.
Network availability target is 99.5+% or greater.

Customer Responsibilities

for the network terminating equipment and
the router should be available
- Ensure a good
environment
- Limit recreational use during
business hours
- Keep PC’s virus free
- Do not use file
sharing applications to traffic copy-protected
music or other files
